Here when you need us most

When you need medical care, we’re here to make things easier for you. Whether you’ve got a question that needs answering, a concern that needs addressing or a condition that needs treating, we can help you access the care you need, wherever you are.

Virtual doctor service

If your local clinic is closed or you’re in a new country and you don’t speak the language, it can be difficult to know where to turn. Not anymore. Simply register and arrange an appointment with your independent virtual doctor service, day or night.

The service, provided by Advance Medical, gives you unlimited phone and video consultations with an internationally trained doctor who speaks your language – at a time and place that suits you. No more time wasted in a doctor’s waiting room.

Can I use the virtual doctor service?

Yes, if you’re on one of our personal plans or a corporate plan (covering 1-49 employees) and you have cover for out-patient treatment or your plan includes an out-patient option.

What do I need to do?

Register today so you’re up and running. And if you have family members covered on your health plan, they can register too, as long as they’re over 18.

It’s easy to register and book an appointment:

Download the Virtual Doctor from AXA app on iOS or Android app store, or visit, or call 24/7 on +44 (0) 203 4995 487 to arrange a call back.

To register you’ll need your AXA – Global Healthcare customer number – you’ll find it on your membership card. It’ll be in this format 1234567A or INTL7654321.

Find a health provider

Search for your nearest hospital or clinic

Wherever you are in the world, we want to make it easy for you to find the right specialist, hospital or clinic. We work with healthcare providers around the world but if you want to find one in our network, use our online provider search tool to find your nearest health provider based on your location or by the type of treatment you need. And we can arrange to pay them directly where possible, so you don’t have to worry about being out of pocket.

24/7 Health information helpline

When you have a health concern, it’s good to be able to speak to someone as soon as you can. With our Health at Hand medical helpline, you have access to nurses, counsellors, midwives and pharmacists.

How can they help?

They can’t give you a diagnosis but they can help you work out if you need a doctor. And if you’ve got a health question they’re on hand to answer it.

Anything you ask them is confidential, so just pick up the phone to discuss your symptoms with a nurse, check your medication with a pharmacist, talk to a counsellor about how you’re feeling or speak to a midwife about your pregnancy.

What do I need to do?

Second opinion

Getting the right diagnosis is essential if you’re to receive the right treatment and care. Sometimes, when it’s a complex or life changing diagnosis, you’ll want to know that every avenue has been explored, for that extra reassurance.

That’s why, we believe all our members should have the right to an independent second medical opinion from world leading experts. We include it in all our plans.

How can they help?

Our independent health consultants go further than offering you a second opinion to give you reassurance on your initial diagnosis. You can also have a medically trained personal case manager and nurse to help guide and support you from diagnosis through to recovery – helping you make informed medical decisions at difficult times.

What do I need to do?

Evacuation and repatriation

If you’re admitted to hospital in an emergency, you expect to get the care you need. That’s why all our plans include emergency evacuation and repatriation, so if the treatment isn’t available locally, we can get you to where you need to be.

Whether it’s a short drive or an international flight, our emergency assistance team will get you the nearest medical facility that can give you the right care. And once you’re feeling better, we’ll get you back again too.

What do I need to do?
