Together for a better world

Our 2019 intermediary conference

PUBLISHED: 13 October 2019 | LAST UPDATED: 4 December 2023

On 4th July, we were joined by intermediaries specializing in cross-border health insurance at the Grubstreet Author, in London, for our UK flagship intermediary event.

We invited our guests to discover the future of healthcare - from innovations in health technology to shifting attitudes towards health and wellbeing – and helped them to get up-to-date with the developments around our business that their clients will be benefitting from very soon.

Here's a summary of the topics we covered on the day:

Our global healthcare team has evolved

  • As AXA’s global healthcare specialists, we’re managing general agents with a multi-insurer model. We’ve come a long way since ‘AXA PPP International’.
  • We updated our Terms of Business Agreement to reflect the changes we’ve made to our business. If you don’t believe your company has been contacted to sign an updated Terms of Business Agreement, speak to your AXA representative.
  • We introduced Gordon Delaney, who’s heading the global healthcare team in our new EU office. They’ll develop global healthcare in key markets, supporting our existing business, and promoting growth across Europe.
  • We unveiled our brand-new online home for intermediaries. Our new website is easier to navigate and doesn’t require a log in to access useful sales tools and policy literature.

We're gaining momentum with improvements to our service and products

  • We’ve simplified the plans we offer. Our customers can expect global health plans designed to give consistent cover, wherever they go. They’ll keep the same great service, with the knowledge they have the world’s number one insurance brand by their side.
  • We introduced the Foundation level of cover, for individuals and families. This budget-friendly offers essential cover for:
    • In-patient and day-patient treatment
    • Out-patient surgical procedures
    • Cancer treatment
    • MRI, CT and PET scans
    • Foundation can even be used to ‘top up’ existing cover from a customer’s domestic plan, to provide international benefits.
  • We gave our guests a sneak peek of our new online quote tool. With 4 steps to creating a personal plan for your client, it’s easier than ever to get a quote for individuals and families.
  • We’ve improved cover for SMEs and made it simpler to transfer your clients to the right plan. With flexible, sustainable pricing, and dedicated support from day one, it’s never been a better time to recommend AXA.
  • We took a virtual care journey with Advance Medical, who we’ve partnered with to bring a virtual doctor service to thousands of global healthcare customers. Offering access to 50,000 experts across 450 medical specialities, and providing 2.6 million virtual care visits in 2018 alone, Advance Medical are global leaders in virtual care.

We've got a healthcare ambition, and we're unlocking the technology that will take us there

  • We’ve seen unprecedented changes to healthcare markets, facilities, and attitudes towards health over the last few decades. With such rapid change, what can we expect from the future of healthcare?
  • We took a look at innovations in maternity care, biometric measuring, and metabolic testing – which are already helping to provide healthier lives for many.
