We're ready for Brexit

PUBLISHED: 3 December 2020 | LAST UPDATED: 6 January 2023

The transition period for the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (EU) is ending soon. We want you and your clients to know we're prepared to continue offering the same great products and services beyond Brexit.

Here are just some of the steps we've already taken to make sure we're 'Brexit ready' for you and your clients:

We opened our European hub

Since opening our EU hub in 2019 we've gone from strength to strength as we continue to grow in the region. Our initial focus was to smoothly transition your AXA clients and members in the EEA to policies underwritten by AXA Insurance dac, which is based in the Republic of Ireland. We successfully completed this in March this year.

To make sure we continue to offer you and your clients the best customer experience we've also doubled the size of our team. As well as supporting client retention, client servicing, financial administration, and compliance, our team in Dublin has been managing all EEA sales since January 2020.

The same great cover, globally

Our EU, UK and Asian hubs work together to partner with you, on a global scale.

Whether you're recommending one of our Global Health Plans in the UK, the EEA or Hong Kong – you can be assured of consistency in plan design and the service experience we offer to you, and your clients, no matter which of our insurers underwrites them*. And you can be assured there are no changes in the way we pay commission to you either.

We've also refreshed the Terms of Business Agreements you have with AXA for international health insurance business. The new Terms of Business Agreements are now directly with the AXA Global Healthcare Group of Companies, enabling the appropriate AXA Global Healthcare sales hub, to place business on your behalf with the right insurer on our panel**.

We're looking beyond Brexit

We're continuing to invest in the EEA throughout 2021 and beyond and have some exciting plans. We're committed to building better relationships with both clients and intermediaries across the region and have recently welcomed a new Business Development and Relationship Manager in the Benelux region.

We've also worked with AP companies to further expand the AXA Select medical network across Europe, giving your clients access to direct billing at even more treatment facilities. Alongside this, with the ability to secure additional discounts, we've seen an average cost saving of 7% this year – meaning your clients benefits could go further with the additional 900 new providers within our network.
