General information
The promoter of this offer is AXA GLOBAL HEALTHCARE (UK) LIMITED (“AGH”) (registered number 03039521), whose registered office is at 20 Gracechurch Street, London EC3V 0BG. The AGH Refer a Friend offer is provided and managed by the third-party supplier, Buyapowa Limited (registered in England and Wales under number 07574698) whose registered office is Unit F, 11 Bell Yard Mews, London, England, SE1 3TN (“Buyapowa”). Buyapowa provide the technology, support, and administrative services to enable Refer a Friend offer and facilitate rewards provided under this offer. By participating in AGH’s Refer a Friend offer (“Refer a Friend”), you agree that:
- you have read and accept the following Refer a Friend Terms and Conditions (“Terms”);
- you have read and accept Buyapowa’s platform terms and conditions provided here and detailed in the registration email; and
- You have read and accept the Refer a Friend Privacy Policy and AGH Privacy Notices.
Eligibility criteria and definitions
Refer a Friend NOT available: In countries where Uber and PayPal do not operate and are not available, a Reward will not be offered, and you cannot participate in Refer a Friend. Please contact us to verify whether Uber or PayPal operate and are available in your country.
- Eligible Plan: To hold an eligible AGH policy for Refer a Friend, the Friend must:
- be a new customer to AGH and have not taken out or held a policy with AGH in the last three (3) months prior to receiving the invitation from the Referrer;
- purchase one of the following:
- Global Health Plan or Islands Health Plan arranged by AGH, AXA Global Healthcare (EU) Limited or AXA XL Insurance Company UK Limited; or
- plan purchased directly (not through any intermediaries) from AGH, AXA Global Healthcare (EU) Limited or AXA XL Insurance Company UK Limited.
- purchase a plan outlined above in paragraph (b)(i) or (b)(ii) with a minimum monthly premium of £130/$183/€148 or an annual premium of £1,482/$2,086/€1,677 (inclusive of tax).
- Eligible Plans do not include:
- transactions related to an Eligible Plan that have been cancelled, refunded, or reversed by either the Friend or Referrer, within the first three (3) months of the Eligible Plan; and
- transactions related to an Eligible Plan that have been cancelled, refunded, or reversed by AGH.
- Referrer: To be an eligible referrer for Refer a Friend, an individual must:
- be eighteen (18) years of age or older;
- be a current member of AGH who has an active Global Health Plan or Islands Health Plan or corporate health insurance plan arranged by AGH, AXA Global Healthcare (EU) Limited or AXA XL Insurance Company UK Limited, before a Friend purchases an Eligible Plan;
- have continuously been a member of a plan outlined directly above in paragraph (b) for the past three (3) months; and
- have settled any outstanding balance of such plan up to the time where the Reward (defined below) is received by Referrer.
- Friend: To be an eligible friend for Refer a Friend, an individual must:
- receive an invitation to participate in Refer a Friend by a Referrer through a unique referral code sent to their email;
- be eighteen (18) years of age or older;
- not currently or in the last three (3) months have resided at the same address as the Referrer and be deemed to be in a household together; and
- not be an employee of AGH, AXA Global Healthcare (EU) Limited or AXA XL Insurance Company UK Limited or any other AXA group entity.
How does Refer a Friend work?
- A Referrer must register for Refer a Friend via the AGH website. Once the Referrer has reviewed the eligibility criteria in these Terms and the terms and conditions on Buyapowa’s platform (here), fully registered on the website by providing personal information (name, email and policy number), the Referrer will receive a unique referral link which they can share with their Friend(s) to allow them to register on the AGH website and purchase an Eligible Plan.
- A Friend may take advantage of Refer a Friend by:
- reviewing and accepting eligibility criteria in these Terms and the terms and conditions on Buyapowa’s platform (here) and, registering for Refer a Friend via the AGH website (by providing personal information: name and email) by following the unique referral link sent to the Friend. The Friend must then select a time to be called/phoned by AGH to purchase an Eligible Plan; and
- purchase an Eligible Plan by phone directly from AGH. When purchasing, the Friend must tell the AGH agent (the “Agent”) that they are purchasing the Eligible Plan as a result of a referral from the Referrer and provide the Agent with the Referrer’s name and email address. The Friend must also confirm to the Agent that they have obtained the Referrer’s consent to share these details with AGH.
- Following the purchase of an Eligible Plan by Friend:
- the Friend must maintain the Eligible Plan for at least three (3) months and have paid the minimum premium of the Eligible Plan for three (3) months.
- Buyapowa will email Referrer and Friend (together, “Customers”) for and on behalf of AGH, at the email address the Customers each provide when registering on the AGH website, which will enable Customers to each select their Reward (defined below) via the AGH website.
- Buyapowa will send the relevant selected Reward to the Customers via email. Customers will also receive an email informing them when the Reward is available to access and use.
Reward and redemption of Reward
- What is the Reward?
- The Reward amount is £100 GBP (one hundred pounds) worth of PayPal credit to the Customers PayPal account per referral to each Friend, OR £100 GBP (one hundred pounds) worth of Uber credit issued as a “gift card” that the Customer can redeem via the Uber app per referral to each Friend (the “Reward”).
Refer a Friend NOT available: In countries where Uber and PayPal do not operate and are not available, a Reward will not be offered, and you cannot participate in Refer a Friend. Please contact us to verify whether Uber or PayPal operate and are available in your country.
- The Reward will be converted into the Customers local currency by Uber or PayPal at the applicable conversion rate prevailing at the time of receiving the Reward.
- There is a limit of 1 (one) Reward per Friend and 10 (ten) Rewards per Referrer. The Referrer can receive a maximum Reward of £1000.00 GBP (one thousand pounds) worth of Uber or PayPal credit to account, for a maximum of ten (10) Friends during one calendar year. If two or more Referrers invite the same Friend, Buyapowa will credit the Reward to the person who sent the first referral invitation, as determined in Buyapowa’s sole discretion.
- The Reward does not constitute electronic money, has no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash, used to purchase gift cards or transferred out of the Customers Uber or PayPal account.
- Redemption of reward:
- If a Friend has purchased an Eligible Plan and opted to pay monthly, the selected Reward will, subject to successful payment of the first three (3) months premium, be issued within twenty-eight (28) days of receiving their third (3) monthly premium.
- If a Friend chooses to pay for the Eligible Plan quarterly, the selected Reward will be sent within twenty-eight (28) days of receiving their full quarterly payment, provided they have been a current member for at least three (3) months.
- If a Friend chooses to pay for the Eligible Plan annually, the selected Reward will be sent within twenty-eight (28) days of receiving their full annual payment, provided they have been a current member for at least three (3) months.
- AGH may substitute the Reward for another item of equivalent or greater monetary value if this is necessary for reasons beyond AGH’s control or if AGH are unable to fulfil the Reward for any reason. There will be no cash alternative.
Referrals to Refer a Friend
- A Referrer must only refer family and personal friends and acquaintances to Refer a Friend and must obtain their prior consent before sending the referral.
- Referrers, Friends and customers must not publish or distribute the invitation to participate in Refer a Friend in public forums, channels and/or locations (online or otherwise) where the audience may include individuals who are not their family or personal friends/acquaintances.
- Referrers and Friends must not refer themselves to Refer a Friend. If they do so, AGH may disqualify the individual from participation in Refer a Friend and any successful referrals will be void, at AGH’s reasonable discretion.
General Terms
- If either of the Referrer or Friend fail to comply with these Terms, neither shall be entitled to receive a Reward.
- Refer a Friend can be used in conjunction with other marketing offers, including the 5% discount that members may receive in exchange for paying annually. This is at AGH’s discretion.
- AGH reserves the right to limit, suspend, withdraw, cancel or amend Refer a Friend in part or in its entirety at any time without notice.
- Applications for Eligible Plans are subject to their normal terms and conditions including underwriting criteria. AGH reserves the right to decline any application for any insurance policy at its absolute discretion and is not obliged to disclose any reason for rejection. In these cases, the Customers will not be eligible to receive the referral incentive or reward.
- AGH is not liable for any Reward that is lost, stolen, or unused, unless this are caused by AGH’s negligence.
- By taking advantage of Refer a Friend, the Referrer agrees that AGH is not liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever suffered or sustained in connection with Refer a Friend or use of the Reward (including but not limited to direct, indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, income or goodwill), save for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including fraud, gross negligence or for death or personal injury caused by our or our affiliates’ negligence).
- AGH reserves the right to revise these Terms at any time without giving prior notice and by continuing to take part in the promotion subsequent to any revision of these Terms, the Customers shall be deemed to have agreed to any such new or amended terms.
- AGH will not be deemed to provide private medical insurance or provide any benefit or reward in connection with Refer a Friend to the extent that the provision of such insurance, payment, reward or such claim or provision of such benefit would, in AGH’s opinion, be likely to expose AGH to any sanction, prohibition or restriction under United Nations resolutions or the trade or economic sanction, laws or regulations of the European Union, United Kingdom or United States of America.
- The Terms of Refer a Friend do not modify or vary the terms and conditions of any AGH policy which may be purchased.
- If any of these clauses or paragraphs should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these Terms and the remaining clauses and paragraphs shall survive and remain in full force and effect.
- Refer a Friend is void where prohibited or if the Referrer or Friend’s account or transactions are fraudulent, abusive, not completed through legitimate channels, or irregular in any way.
- These Terms are subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
Use of information collected in Refer a Friend
- AGH agree to collect and use information in accordance with relevant privacy and data protection laws. Referrers and Friends are responsible for reading the Refer a Friend Privacy Policy and AGH Privacy Notices in order to understand how AGH collects, uses, and discloses their data. If a Referrer or Friend has any questions about the collection, use, or disclosure of a Referrer or Friends data, they may contact the data protection team by emailing aghprivacy@axa.com.
Cancelling or suspending AGH plan
- AGH reserves the right to:
- review any account or transaction related to this Refer a Friend, for any reasonable cause and upon such notice as is reasonable under the circumstances and delay completion and provision of the Reward.
- cancel a Referrer or Friends Rewards, suspend Refer a Friend benefits at any time with immediate effect and without written notice, for any reason and in AGH sole discretion including, without limitation, if AGH believes a Referrer or Friend has:
- acted in a manner inconsistent with applicable laws, regulations, ordinances;
- failed to pay any bill when due to AGH or a financial obligation;
- acted in an inappropriate, fraudulent, abusive or hostile manner;
- breached or violated any of these Terms;
- fraudulently claimed eligibility to earn benefits or Rewards; or
- engaged in any misconduct or wrongdoing in connection with Refer a Friend including, without limitation, with respect to any other Refer a Friend Customers benefits.
- Buyapowa may delete inactive users (both Referrers and Friends) accounts. Customers who are not “Active users” will be considered inactive and subject to deletion after 12 months.
Active users means individuals who meet at least one of the following criteria:
- registered as a Referrer (via seamless or form sign-up);
- accessed, logged in or interacted with the referral dashboard;
- generated a Friend visit; or
- generated a pending referral.
- If the Referrer cancels their AGH policy prior to the Friend registering for Refer a Friend, then the unique link will not be available to the Friend (even if it was sent prior to Referrer closing their AGH policy) and a Friend will not be able to take up Refer a Friend.

Contact and Complaint process
- If a Friend, Referrer or customer has any complaints or general queries related to Refer a Friend, including if they have not received their reward or were not happy with the service or process please send an email to agh@axa.com. We will treat your compliant in accordance with the timescales specified on our website.
