Accessibility Compliance Status

Our website is partially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard.

Accessibility Audit Results
We routinely audit our website for accessibility issues

Summary

  • 70% of WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements are fully met
  • 30% of requirements are not fully met on all pages
  • 11.5% of requirements fail on most pages

Method
We use the open-source AXE accessibility engine to audit our website. We evaluate fully rendered webpages using the Chromium browser (to reflect real user experiences as closely as possible).

Successful Website Accessibility Features

  • ARIA attributes are largely successful
  • Most HTML elements (titles, headings, etc.) are properly marked up
  • Alternative text for images, objects, video captions, and HTML elements is mostly present
  • Deprecated page elements are avoided
  • Interactive controls are not nested
  • Inline text spacing is generally adjustable
  • The language attribute is correctly used in most cases

Areas for Improvement

  • Most pages contain text extracts without good background contrast
  • Lists often contain unexpected elements
  • Many ARIA commands lack accessible names or are not permitted
  • Many buttons lack readable text

We are continually working to improve the accessibility of our website, prioritising these areas.
